7/2/14 Daily Oklahoma: “a ritual that is similar to a Catholic Mass, but done in such a way that you are offering a sacrifice to Satan to receive his blessing.”
7/16/2014 Daily Oklahoman: Daniels, 35, acknowledged in an interview Tuesday he is a sex offender.
He said he was convicted in 2009 for an inappropriate relationship with an inmate at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud, where he was a guard.
Daniels said the activity was consensual and involved “kissing and touching through clothes.” He said he lost his job and served two years’ probation.
8/20/14 Daily Oklahoman: However, the organizer of the satanic black Mass, set for Sept. 21, said he and his group did not steal anything and the lawsuit filed Wednesday is a form of “intimidation” to stop the event from happening.
“I’m being falsely accused of a crime I never committed,” said Adam Daniels, who is the defendant in the lawsuit, along with the satanic organization Dakhma of Angra Mainyu Syndicate.
8/20/14 Daily Oklahoman: Daniels said he considered the allegations in the lawsuit a form of “defamation of character.” He said the black Mass will go on despite the “intimidation tactic to stop us.”
8/21/14 Daily Oklahoman: “I refuse to waste thousands of dollars fighting over a nasty cookie that some man said a prayer over,” Daniels said in the statement. “We will still move forward with worshiping the Devil and blaspheming Gawd in the public square.”
9/14/14 Daily Oklahoman: “I’m very glad that we get the opportunity to share with people what Satanism really is and not Hollywood portrays it to be,” Daniels said. “They like to say satanists get together and sacrifice animals and people, and that’s not what we do.”
9/14/14 Daily Oklahoman: this is America — it’s freedom of religion,” Daniels said. “We’re just in this location and this is the location where we are having it.”
9/14/14 Daily Oklahoman: Friday, he said that although the event won’t include a consecrated Eucharistic host at its center, “as far as the script, the amount of blasphemy and the amount of sacrilege will remain the same.”
9/14/14 Daily Oklahoman: “It’s cognitive dissonance because what they’re seeing is the Devil winning out over God and they don’t know how to handle it.”
9/18/14 Daily Oklahoma: On Thursday, Adam Daniels, leader of the satanic group, said he does not fear for his safety or that of those planning to attend the black mass.
“I have the utmost respect for the Oklahoma City Police Department and their plans,” he said during a phone interview.
9/18/14 Daily Oklahoman: Daniels said he is amused by reports of groups planning to protest his black mass, even that one group, the U.S. District Superior of the Society of St. Pius X, is expecting about 600 people to show up for their morning Mass at the Sheraton Hotel and an early afternoon march to the Civic Center.
“I think it’s funny,” Daniels said.
“It’s a large expression of people who hate their own Constitution.”
9/20/14 Tulsa World: “This is not a game. It’s very serious to us,” Daniels said in a phone conversation this week. “This will be held as a real black mass, altered to follow state laws,” he said.
9/20/14 Tulsa World: The purpose of the mass is to deprogram people from the influences of Catholicism and Christianity, he said.
9/20/14 Tulsa World: It will conclude with a reverse exorcism, casting the Holy Spirit out of the person, Daniels said.
9/20/14 Tulsa World: Daniels said the group meets every Sunday in an Oklahoma City-area home, going through a cycle of rituals and activities that include teachings, working on journals and workbooks, and meals together.
9/20/14 Tulsa World: He said he and members of his group believe in and worship the literal devil, which they know by its Zoroastrian name, Angra Mainyu.
9/20/14 Tulsa World: Asked if he considers Satan good, or if he believes he is worshiping an evil being, Daniels said Satan is a title that means adversarial king.“My devil is an equal anti-cosmic spirit that is the antithesis to what most call God,” he said.“If you call chaos, freedom and self-service evil, then I’m one wicked individual. … I’m no more evil than a lion who eats a gazelle.”
9/20/14 Tulsa World: “We’re glad that we have this opportunity to expose these people’s self-righteous behavior,” he said.
9/22/14 Daily Oklahoman: Even so, the group’s leader Adam Daniels said he was pleased with the outcome — calling it a victory because “we got it done.”
9/22/14 Daily Oklahoman: “If you’re here to disrupt things, get out. If you don’t like me and you don’t like my background, get out. We’re here to educate,” he said. “Yes, we’re anti-Catholic. Yes, we’re anti-Christian in general, but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect each person as individuals so I expect that same respect.”
9/22/14 Daily Oklahoman: “We do not have a consecrated host. I’m sure everybody is aware as to why,” he said
9/22/14 Daily Oklahoman: Daniels said the whole point of the black mass was to mock the Catholic Church so that people would not be afraid of it. “That is the point of this — to destroy that fear of the Catholic Church,” he told the audience gathered.
8/11/14 KFOR: “We’re calling Jesus a mute God. We’re calling Jesus a fugitive God. That he’s done nothing, he’s a chamberlain of nothing.” said Daniels
8/11/14 KFOR: Daniels said, “the whole basis of the mass is that we take the consecrated host and give it a blessing or offering to Satan. We’re censoring it, doing all things that’s normally done to bless a sacrifice, which is obviously the host body of Christ. Then we’re taking that and we’re reconsecrating it, or the Devil does.”
7/9/14 KOCO: “The guys on the other side of the coin are making enough noise they want to know what’s going on,” said Daniels.
8/20/14 KOCO: “(It’s) just laughable. (It) shows you what sheep people are,” said Adam Daniels, who practices Dakhma of Angra Mainyu. “The black mass is not about killing animals. It’s not about raping virgins. It’s not about anything like that at all. It is a deprogramming device to (alleviate) someone from the enslavement that that church has placed on them.”
7/2/14 KWTV: “I want to go to Hell,” he said.
8/20/14 KWTV: “Basically, they are trying to defame my character as well as my church’s character by creating an accusation and bearing false witness to their neighbor, which is one of their 10 commandments,” he said.
9/18/14 KWTV: “Is it my duty as a vicar for the devil to spiritually attack his opponent? Yes,” Adam Daniels with the Dakhma of Angra Mainyu said.
9/18/14 KWTV: “Every Sunday, they’re in their pulpits blaspheming my god, and they have the right to do that, but I don’t have the right to do the same in return,” Daniels said.
7/8/14 KOKH: This is how we deprogram all the things that Christianity has instilled into people so we can free their minds from the enslavement,” says Daniels.
9/10/14 ABC: “One of the dictates of the church is not only to educate the members but to educate the public,” Dakhma of Angra Mainyu’s Adam Daniels said, “and to debunk the Hollywood-projected image of our beliefs.”
9/16/14 ABC: “I really don’t care if 80,000 people don’t like me,” he said. “It’s a free country and they cannot like it all they want.”
10/21/14 ABC: Daniels is the co-founder of Dakhma of Angra Mainyu, a dark religion that worships demons, he claims to have created himself. He has written his own “bible” and calls himself “the daster,” which he said was “the equivalent to a high priest,” even “pope.”
“I’ve been working on this for 10 years,” he said. “It’s been created by my creation.”
10/21/14 ABC: “There was never a stolen host,” Daniels said. “[The Christians] are the ones that decided to claim that we had a stolen host.”
10/21/14 ABC: “We want to use highly charged material, probably one of the most highly charged things in Oklahoma would be rubble from the Oklahoma City bombing,” Daniels said. “It would have one of the most highly negative charges that you could have energy wise.” “Creation through destruction,” he added.
7/1/14 Aleteia: “We’re trying to bring about tolerance for our religious freedom for the satanic religion,” Daniels said. “We have a legally-filed church…and bringing out the black mass as one of the rituals of satanism to educate the public.”
7/3/14 Aleteia: Indeed, Daniels, the head of the Oklahoma City satanic group, told Aleteia earlier this week that the public black mass is meant to be “a defiant act to show the Catholics that Satanism will stand up and fight for our religious rights.” He said his church is trying to “bring about tolerance for our religious freedom for the satanic religion. We have a legally-filed church…and bringing out the black mass as one of the rituals of satanism to educate the public.”
7/3/14 Aleteia: In a follow-up email, Daniels explained that the Dakhma of Angra Mainyu represents “religious satanism,” as opposed to the “atheistic satanism” represented by the New York-based Satanic Temple that failed to present the black mass at Harvard. “We are religious Satanism, down to me conducting the first legally-binding Satanic Wedding in 2012,” Daniels said. “Marriage liscesnce and all.”
8/20/14 Aleteia: “The nude altar has to be dressed; there won’t be public urination,” he said. “We would proceed to do the satanic consecration by forcing Jesus into the bread. At that point there will be things yelled at the bread, talking about how it’s a worthless chamberlain who doesn’t do its job and all it does is sleep, doesn’t answer any prayers and allows for its own people to be hurt, and because of it it has killed millions of our brethren, meaning pagans and Satanists alike throughout the centuries. At that point it will be dashed to the floor, and the deacon and subdeacon will be smashing it and stomping on it.”
8/20/14 CNHI: Just call us devil-worshipers,” Daniels said. “I think they’ll get the gist.”
8/20/14 CNHI: “Every time a satanic group tries to do something in public, it’s always met with very heavy opposition by the Christian community,” he said.
8/20/14 CNHI: “They’re damning themselves to hell,” he said. “If they no longer fear hell, what else do they have to fear?”
8/20/14 CNHI: Satanism teaches “we are our own God,” he said, and control our own lives and choices, as “opposed to having some priest tell me what my morality is.”
